Calendula Officinalis

What happens when you see a herbalist?

A herbal drug differs from that prescribed by an orthodox practitioner in that it is extracted from part (e.g. leaf/root/berry) of the whole plant which contains up to thousands of active constituents. Many pharmaceutical drugs are based on these plant-derived products but only a single active constituent is chemically synthesised and mass produced. Herbalists believe that all substances within the plant are balanced and necessary to its healing properties.

Your herbal remedy will be designed to suit your individual needs. This may be dispensed as a tincture and/or dried herbs to be prepared as a tea. Creams or plant juices may also be recommended.

All advice will be given in consideration of any other medication that you may be taking; referral to your GP or other healthcare practitioner will be recommended if it is considered that your complaint would benefit from this.
